James 4th October 2009

Some entries from the online guest book on hartfordcourant.com: October 03, 2009 James and Michael, I send hugs, kisses and sympathy your way with a heavy heart. I loved your mom so very much. Still a bit stunned with eyes filled with varying depths of tears. Yet, I know she is no longer suffering; I wanted that to end for her, but, it still doesn't help right now, does it? I will miss Calli, her voice, her laugh, our political discussions, talking about our kids, reminiscing about those wild and crazy years, what we were doing now...I remember the joy she found in being a grandmother - yes, I heard all about Gabey and Isabella (talking to fairies is a good thing, really!); the happiness she experienced through the connection with her daughter Kelly, after all the years, and her pride in both of you and how much your happiness meant to her. I like to think of her now as a butterfly - perhaps like the one on the back of her shoulder; soaring and spiraling free with multicolored traces of peace and protest signs appearing and disappearing behind her and the images of those she loved, and who loved her, embedded in her brightly colored wings. (Smile.) Yeah. That's it. My love and thoughts are with you; see you in November come hell or high water! You both know how much I loved your mom, That free-spirited, passionate woman who I called my friend for 37 years. OMG! I will miss her, miss hearing her voice; I will miss the political discussions, reminiscing about those shared wild and crazy times, talking about our kids, her delight in being a grandmother, and her joy in knowing her daughter Kelly - after all those years. I imagine her as a butterfly, perhaps like the one tattooed on the back of her shoulder; her soul bouyant and free, soaring, spiraling, leaving multi-colored traces of peace and protest signs, and the images of those she loved, and who loved her, imbedded in her brightly colored wings. Thinking of you all with much love, and sympathy. I will see you in November.
